Amanda Stayer, a sophomore at Field High, is this week’s deserving artist of the spotlight!
Noticing her talents in elementary school, but not truly considering herself an artist until middle school, when asked about her origin, Amanda stated,
“I liked doing it while I was bored and started to realize I was kind of ok at it.”
Choosing to work with traditional materials rather than digital, Amanda’s work focuses on designs that fill up plenty of space with bold and intricate patterns and smooth line work, usually being colored in with water-colors that adds a lovely burst, making it a vocal point in her works.
Also working with photography, Amanda likes to enter her works in fairs and competitions. Having recently entered one over the summer hosted by Quail Hollow, Amanda’s inspiration for her photos comes from,
“Really anything that looks cool.”
Overall, Amanda’s great art and photography skills make it obvious of the bright future ahead of her!
