Don’t be a drama queen.

If you strive to live a drama free life the first thing you need to understand is that not every situation deserves or needs a reaction. If it’s not going to matter in 24 hours it shouldn’t matter at all. Ask yourself, “Would I say this about a person if they were standing right here?” The answer 9 times out of 10 is no. So why say it at all? The main reason rumors circulate Field High School is people don’t know how to keep to themselves. If someone isn’t the least bit concerned about you, you shouldn’t be concerned about them. Would you say it to their face?

Do you know 100% if it’s true?

Are you benefiting from this?

Are you saying this to make yourself feel better?

If you answered no to any of these questions odds are you are the problem.

This doesn’t mean you can’t stand your ground when you feel attacked. Put your foot down when you feel it’s necessary and do your best to prevent it from happening again. Your friends who stay by your side through the gossip and don’t listen to what people say are the friends you need to keep close. When you find yourself caught in the middle of some talk, before you react, talk to them to decide the best way to handle the situation. The moral of the story is, unless you live under a rock you can’t escape gossip. People are always going to talk, so why not give them something to talk about.
