Many Americans will miss our old president Barack Obama. He gave his final speech as the President of the United States in his hometown of Chicago as many American’s reminisced on his past. He caught the country by storm during one of the worst economic times in American history with his simple but powerful slogan “yes we can”. Americans embraced the optimistic thinking and put their faith in him. Obama undoubtedly changed the United States in his 8 year stint as president. Whether you agree with the change or not is your opinion. “Yes, we can. Yes, we did. Yes, we can” repeating his once used slogan to offer hope and an optimistic future to many Americans who feel hopeless after the results of the upcoming election. When asked about Barack Obama’s farewell speech Junior Class President Kayla McCleod said “I thought his speech was so well written, it made e realize how grateful I am to have grown up with such a great man leading our country.” Obama teared up as he paid tribute to his wife and kids saying “You have made me proud and you have made me proud and you have made this country proud.” Obama wrapped up his nostalgic farewell speech by saying “You did change the world” , “I’m asking you to believe not in my ability to bring about change but in yours”. Obama’s heartfelt farewell speech left American’s ready to embrace the new change.
