Field High School Senior: Emily Walsh. Emily has been a competitive cheerleader for American Elite All-Stars for fifteen years. When asked why Emily responded: “Cheerleading has always been a huge part of my life because I’ve learned so many life lessons and basic skills through this sport. I’ve also met some of my closest friends through cheerleading who I consider a part of my family.” Emily has recently been accepted into the National Honors Society for leadership, and for the services she has provided to the community like helping with American Elites special needs team. In her free time Emily enjoys playing the guitar and writing because she has found that they relieve any stress she has. Emily’s biggest inspiration is Bethany Hamilton, because she suffered losing an arm in a shark attack while doing what she loves, surfing. Bethany Hamilton has taught Emily that no matter what happens, life goes on and it is what it is, you can either push through it or live in fear.
