Chance makes change

Chancelor Bennett also known as Chance the Rapper, his stage name in the rap industry.  Chance grew up on the South side of Chicago in West Chatham. Chance recently made the news for bringing up Chicago Public Schools to Governor Bruce Rauner. Governor Rauner promised in May to pass a $215 million dollar bill that would fund CPS. Chance and the governor talked “about funding [Chicago Public Schools] with that $215 million that was discussed in May of last year, and was vetoed in December.” Chancelor got personal with the governor saying , “The kids are on the table right now. And, we spoke for a second, it sounded like it was going to—it sounded like we were going somewhere, but it sounds like it’s hinged on passing other bills. I’m not a politician. I’m here ’cause I’m a dad, I’m an after-school teacher.” Chance seemed very upset and emotional after his interview with Governor Rauner. A few days after his interview Chance held a press conference at his former elementary school, where he donated 1 million dollars to CPS and encouraged others to donated as well. Chance is attempting to change Chicago for the better.
