As summer approaches, the Field High School marching band and color guard will lose many of its members due to graduation, making room for more students to participate in the field. However, you do not need to be able to play an instrument to join.

Our color guard is looking for members to join our family, and you could be one of the newest additions to our team. No experience is required; just come to tryouts, have fun, and be yourself!

Tryouts will take place on May 15, 16, and 17 after school from 3:00 to 5:00 in the high school gym.

With trying out comes the opportunity to go to Disney World in Florida with the marching band in 2018! The color guard will take part in creating visuals through dance and flags as the band preforms during halftime at Friday night football games, parades, and  at band shows. Also, joining the color guard comes with making new friends, and an exemption from P.E. if you do not desire to take the class.

Maranda Batchlet, entering her third year of school as a color guard, says that “It’s nothing really to be nervous about. Its a group or girls and guy wanting to show what they can do; It’s a learning process.”

We hope to see you at tryouts! Bring extra clothes, some water, and a good attitude!

Meghan Franks✨

Hello! I'm Meghan Franks; a Sophomore at Field High School, and a writer for News On The Fly. I love writing, it's a great way to relieve the stress I receive from other classes during my school day. I hope to someday work for a magazine; preferably Alternative Press as a writer, and hopefully an interviewer and photographer. 💜
