Lebron Raymone James was born on December 30, 1984, in Akron, Ohio. James played basketball as a child and throughout those years he gained true talent. In 1999, Lebron was recruited to play at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School.
During his freshman year, his team won the Division III State Title. James contributed 25 points to that victory.
As a sophomore, James was chosen for the USA Today All-USA First Team, being the first sophomore to ever receive this award. James and his team also won the State Title for the second year in a row.
During James’ junior year he was named PARADE magazine’s High School Boys Basketball Player of the Year and Gatorade Player of the Year. At this point, James considered going pro.
James’ senior year was outstanding. He averaged 31.6 points per game and his team won their third state title.
Throughout James’ four years, he scored 2,657 points, 892 rebounds, and 523 assists.
In the 2003 NBA Draft, Lebron James was the first player picked. He was signed by the Cleveland Cavaliers. After being signed, James signed several endorsement deals, including one with Nike for $90 million.
During the 2003-04 season, James became the first Cavalier to ever win the NBA Rookie of the Year Award. He was also the youngest (20) ever to win this award.
Since the very start, Lebron James has been an incredible basketball player. He has led the Miami Heat to NBA titles in 2012 and 2013 and won his third championship with Cleveland last year, 2016.
